Part of “Finance in Feb” event series, this lounge will feature short presentations and a Q&A sessions with some London entrepreneurs who have recently raised investment funding from Angels and VC’s.

RSVP for the event here.

Our speakers are:

Jay Bregman

Jay Bregman is the Founder / CEO of Hailo  - a network that matches passengers and licensed taxi drivers using a tool which helps to make cabbies’ days more sociable – and profitable. Hailo raised $3M in seed funding from a founder of Skype (Atomico Ventures) and the backers of Spotify (Wellington Partners). Previously he founded eCourier.co.uk which was voted London’s most inspirational business by the Evening Standard in 2007. He holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an MSc from the London School of Economics. Jay was named #90 on the Times’ 100 People to Watch in 2012.

Ben Whitaker

A Co-Founder of Masabi, Ben is the company’s product evangelist, focussing primarily on business development at the company. He is a familiar face on both the mobile and train industry circuits, regularly invited to interviews and speaking slots at major industry events worldwide.

A classic visionary, Ben helped define the UK rail mobile ticketing standard and move the weight of industry opinion behind it. He is also a security expert with a strong engineering background, designing Masabi’s award-winning encryptMe product. Prior to founding Masabi, Ben worked at IBM, Xerox and Raytheon (Encrypted Radar Systems) on projects ranging from computer interface usability to military cryptography. Ben has an MEng degree in Engineering and Management (MET) from Cambridge University.

Our special guest is:

Ben Shiels

Ben joined Smith & Williamson in October 2008 and was a key member of the Entrepreneurs Group, working closely with a range of emerging and established entrepreneurs and management teams, focussing his energy and expertise on helping them grow, succeed and make a difference. In 2010, inspired by the entrepreneurs he worked with at S&W, Ben launched his own venture – Accelerate Accounting. Accelerate Accounting specialises in accounting for small business.
